Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean to be a referral agent with Florida Premier Referral Network? The program is designed for agents who want to maintain an active license, but not actually conduct any real estate business, and only want to earn referral fees. You will still be required to meet your continuing education obligations related to your license (please refer to the DBPR website for details), but you will not be required to be a member of a Realtor® Association or member of the MLS.

Once you have joined the Florida Premier Referral Network, you are eligible to submit referrals for referral payments. When the transaction closes, the assigned agent's broker will pay your brokerage (Florida Premier Referral Network, LLC) the referral fee. Your broker will process the referral and pay your portion by check or direct deposit.

What is the cost of being a referral agent?

- $100 charged annually on January 1st (no portion of this fee is refundable if you decide to leave the company before year-end)

- All referral fees are subject to an 80/20 split, with 80% to you, and 20% to Florida Premier Referral Network.

What is a referral associate?

A referral associate is someone who holds an active real estate license but earns income by referring a person to a REALTOR® as a lead rather than engaging in any active sales.

How do I join Florida Premier Referral Network, LLC as a referral associate?

It's easy! Just click "Join Now" on the top right of the page and submit your information. After that, you will be contacted for next steps. For more information on the process, see Park Your License. If you have any questions, you can contact Chris Ziebell at chris@rogbeyond.com or (727) 515 2185.

How do I place a referral?

You’ll contact the customer, gather as much pertinent information as possible about them and their buying or selling needs, and get permission to refer them. Important information to obtain includes their name, phone number(s), physical address, email address, area of interest, type of home (single family home, condo, townhouse?), price range, and any other information necessary to place the referral with a real estate broker. The more information you can obtain, the easier it will be to meet the customer’s expectations. Submit the referral form together with any additional information to info@rogbeyond.com.

How do I get paid?

When a real estate transaction closes, the destination company will pay Florida Premier Referral Network, LLC a referral fee from their gross commission. The referral fee check is processed, and then Florida Premier Referral Network will either initiate a direct deposit or mail a check to you the next business day, depending on your preferfence.

Can I have a full-time job in a different profession?

Florida Premier Referral Network was created for people who have chosen not to pursue real estate as a full-time career, who are changing their occupation, or are retiring from full-time work as a real estate agent. As a referral associate, you can still generate referrals through personal and business networking channels even with having a different full-time job.

Can I list or help purchase a property?

As a referral associate, you are not allowed to perform any real estate services including, but not limited to, showing homes, providing comparable sales analysis, setting up appointments, holding open houses, participating in negotiations, or executing any real estate documents. You can refer your customer to an active REALTOR® who will, in turn, provide a referral fee for the introduction if that introduction results in a closed transaction.

What should my email signature and business cards state?

Once you become a referral agent, you may no longer utilize the branding of any brokerage that you may have been associated with. You are only allowed to advertise yourself as a referral agent.

What is the total start-up cost?

The cost is only $100 annually, prorated quarterly for those who join after April 1. There are no local or national board membership dues or MLS fees to be paid (if you were previously a fully licensed Realtor®, you must ensure your membership with them is no longer active).

Do I have to join the local real estate board and/or MLS

No! As a referral associate you will not be required to join the local, state, or national Board of REALTORS®, nor will you be a member of the MLS.

Is continuing education required?

Yes, referral associates are required to maintain their Florida Real Estate License at their own expense. Therefore, FREC’s continuing education requirements must be met.

Can I place a referral with a REALTOR® I know?

Yes, as long as the individual is an active REALTOR®, we will place the referral with that individual, then generate a referral agreement and track the execution of all the paperwork. However, if you do not direct the referral to a specific full-time sales associate, Florida Premier Referral Network, LLC will select a reputable Realtor® in the service area.

Do I pay errors and omissions fees?

No, E&O insurance is not required for referral associates because you are not practicing real estate.

What happens if I move out of state?

There is no requirement for referral associates to live in the state of Florida. As long as you complete the continuing education required to keep your real estate license in current status, you can live and conduct your referral business from anywhere.
